Mary and Zyn Myo Aung live in Yangon, Myanmar. Mary and her husband are bringing great marriage lessons through their training with the help of a Filippino and Myanmar couple speaker that are also based in Myanmar. Together they have formed a great synergy by working with other speakers as well to train the pastor couples in Myanmar.
Their training is unique because they require both husband and wife to attend the training for 2 days a total of 3 times a year. And after each term of the training they visit the attendees and have follow up meetings to help them put into action what they’ve learned from the training. This way they have ensured a safe space for the couples to share their problems and their joys.
They now have 3 speaker couples they work with, have trained 19 pastor couples in total. They are currently working on translating from English into Burmese the full curriculum of the book that they are using in their training. This will help the
pastors and their wives read through the book and help them teach it in their congregation or wherever they go.
In Myanmar, many pastors need this kind of teaching on the “divine order of a family”. They only knew it on a superficial level. So many pastors were shocked when they heard family comes before ministry. Now, they understand that their wives’ roles are just as important as their role as a husband and a pastor and are learning to work together with their wives by their side.
