The Halls first 3-year term in the field led them to relocate to Kenya in 2018, joining the Africa Hope staff who serve the most vulnerable in rural Maasai communities. During their time in Kenya, they were able to learn language, culture and build many relationships with both the national staff and the people they served. The primary focus of their field ministry was to help improve delivery of New International's Family Partners Program (www.NewFamilyPartners.org). Other work included involvement in church planting, field bible studies, food and water security programs, orphan and vulnerable children outreach and Africa Hope staff spiritual/personal development.
Tom & Vicky have now returned to the US for their next season of ministry as Family Partners Liaisons. Their real-life experiences living and building relationships in Africa have made them invaluable assets to the stateside team, as they will continue working remotely with the Africa Hope Kenya staff, as well as becoming advocates promoting Family Partners to individuals, churches, and other organizations.
Since January 1, 2017, Family Partners through New International has directly impacted over 400 families and has indirectly influenced the economic and sustainable growth of dozens of communities throughout rural Kenya. Using the data-driven approach of monthly direct cash transfers, Direct Give, the standard of living for families in extreme poverty has dramatically shifted. Their goal is to see an end to extreme poverty worldwide by 2030.
Using their extensive experience in coordinating and leading short-term teams, the Halls will also be available to help train, mobilize and travel with short-term teams going to Africa Hope for projects or to visit families they've partnered with.
Pray for Tom & Vicky to be fruitful in this new season of their full-time ministry!
