Hollyn first came to Thailand in 2019 as an intern with Joni and Friends International. Here she met the Tell family and instantly felt a connection with Nina, the Tell's middle daughter at the time, who nicknamed her "WoWo". Hollyn returned home from Thailand and graduated from Lipscomb University with a degree in Family Science.
Hollyn first entered the disability space as a caregiver at a short term residential facility for children with intellectual disabilities. That experience was a catalyst for her future as a friend, confidant, and 'shouter of worth' of those with disabilities. Her faith has compelled her to actively create spaces, opportunities, and experiences of inclusion, respite, and education for those with disabilities. Hollyn has worked as a program manager for an overnight respite program and as a teacher for young adults on the Autism Spectrum, in addition to her caregiving experience.
Hollyn is excited for the opportunity to come back to Thailand to grow, learn, and serve Nina and her family as her 1:1 educational aide. Hollyn is impelled by her faith to serve those with disabilities and their families. She believes that everyone has an important role to play in the Kingdom of God. Hollyn longs to empower those with disabilities to find their spot at the table! She is excited and eager to serve Nina and her family for this upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
